So, you find yourself in New York
You could easily forgive New Yorkers for believing they live right in the centre of the universe. Just take a stroll through Times Square and youll be overcome by the feeling that youre truly in the middle of something big.
From the suburban sprawl of Queens to the built-up madness of Manhattan, the five boroughs of New York contain a world of contrasts. Walk a few blocks from the dark, imposing streets of the Financial District and youll find yourself in the other-worldly Chinatown. Step across a few blocks to the West and youre suddenly transported to the effortlessly hip Greenwich Village, home of the prestigious New York University.
On the map, its easy to get your head around New York City. Manhattan is laid out in an easy grid that extends from Battery Park in the Southern tip, right up to the Bronx in the North, bordered by the East and Hudson Rivers.
In a city of eight million people, its easy to feel insignificant, but after some careful exploration youll see that everybody eventually finds their place in New York City. Whether you come looking to immerse yourself in the romance of Broadway, or the fashion of 5th Avenue, youll always leave with a lot of love for New York and probably a cheap t-shirt that lets everybody know about it.
